Report: Stuttgart opt against permanent move for Brighton's Dahoud

VfB Stuttgart have reportedly decided against making Mahmoud Dahoud’s loan move from Brighton & Hove Albion permanent.

Hopes were high when Mahmoud Dahoud joined VfB Stuttgart on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion in January, but the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder has struggled to make a significant impact.

As a result, Stuttgart do not want to trigger the €10 million option in Dahoud’s loan deal to sign him permanently, according to Sport Bild.

Dahoud is therefore set to return to Brighton, who signed him on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund last summer.

The 28-year-old central midfielder has made nine appearances for Stuttgart, scoring once. In total, he has played just 152 minutes for the Swabian club.
