Leicester City defender Jannik Vestergaard once brought his dog to training.

The sight of the pooch, a Eurasier called Brady, at the club’s Seagrave training base is said to have shocked members of club staff.

Despite playing for Leicester, Vestergaard lives in London and commutes to the East Midlands on a daily basis.

According to The Telegraph, it was agreed that the former Southampton star could occasionally stay at the five-star standard accommodation on the first floor of the club’s training ground.

This facility is sometimes used by guests of the owners, the Srivaddhanaprabha family.

But Vestergaard brought a four-legged guest of his own on one occasion.

He was apparently spotted walking his pet around one of the training pitches when his team-mates arrived to work.

It is claimed that Vestergaard then asked one of the club’s player liaison officers to look after his dog while he went to training.

The dog’s visit was reportedly sanctioned by the club as a ‘one off’ because Vestergaard’s family had flown out of London and nobody else was able to look after him.

Vestergaard has been a Leicester player since August 2021 when he joined from Southampton for a transfer fee in the region of £15million.

He has played under many Foxes managers, including Brendan Rodgers, Dean Smith, Enzo Maresca, Steve Cooper and now Ruud van Nistelrooy.

The Denmark international previously clashed with both Rodgers and Cooper.

He also recently refused to shake hands with Van Nistelrooy after being substituted off during Leicester’s 2-0 defeat at West Ham.

With 11 rounds of Premier League fixtures remaining this season, Leicester look destined to be relegated to the Championship.

The Foxes, who won promotion by winning England’s second division last season, have won only four of their first 27 games and currently sit 19th in the table.
