Ruben Amorim will officially be appointed as the new Manchester United manager today, according to a number of sources.
Fabrizio Romano, David Ornstein and others all confirm that a deal for the current Sporting Lisbon coach is all done, minus official confirmation.
Nicolo Schira reports that the official announcement of the signed contract will arrive on Wednesday.

Amorim has agreed a contract until 2027 at Old Trafford, with United agreeing to pay the €10 million release clause in his Sporting Lisbon contract.
The 39-year-old Portuguese coach will replace Erik ten Hag, who was sacked by Man Utd on Monday.
Amorim is one of Europe’s most admired young coaches after performing wonders at Sporting Lisbon in recent years.
He has won five trophies in Lisbon since arriving in 2020, including two league titles.
He has also developed a host of exciting talent; the latest being goal machine Viktor Gyokeres.

Ten Hag sacked by Man Utd
Ten Hag was relieved of his duties at Old Trafford by INEOS’ sporting leadership after a little over two years in charge of the Red Devils.
Man Utd’s decision-makers opted to keep Ten Hag in charge over the October international break, but they acted after a 2-1 defeat to West Ham on Sunday afternoon.
Ten Hag was sacked with Man Utd currently 14th in the Premier League table and with only one win in their last eight games across all competitions.
After finishing eighth in 2023/24, the Old Trafford outfit endured their worst start to a Premier League campaign after seven matches and Ten Hag has now been sacked after failing to turn results around.
Man Utd have only amassed four wins in 14 matches so far this season, with defeats coming against Brighton, Liverpool, Tottenham and West Ham.
Amorim obstacles
Despite the clamour over Amorim, reports have today suggested that the move is not as close as first thought.
The Independent have said that there are two issues afoot in Man Utd clinching the deal. Their piece from today said that “club representatives came away believing there were two potential issues”, and the first was that the coach’s preference was not to leave Sporting in the middle of a campaign and the other was the size of the clause.”
Meanwhile, The Guardian have run a similar line, saying that the 30-day notice period in which Amorim will have to move could be too soon. There are also suggestions that he could be sway by Manchester City and any possible departure of Pep Guardiola.
