Stuttgart’s transfer budget could fuel ambitious summer

Despite possible departures, VfB Stuttgart are ready to invest in their squad this summer.

With several players attracting serious interest across Europe, the Bundesliga side are reported to have significant funds at their disposal to strengthen their squad even without major sales.

The club has already made its first move on the market, securing the signing of right-back Lorenz Assignon for a reported €12 million. But according to Sport Bild, Stuttgart’s war chest is far from depleted; they still have an estimated €25-30 million available for further reinforcements.

And that figure could increase even more if some of Stuttgart’s most in-demand stars are sold.

Woltemade, Stiller, Chabot in demand

Several VfB players are currently on the radar of major clubs. Nick Woltemade, who is starring for Germany at the U21 European Championships in Slovakia, is expected to decide his future after the tournament. Meanwhile, Angelo Stiller and defensive leader Jeff Chabot are also being targeted.

Stiller is reportedly drawing interest from Liverpool and Real Madrid, while Juventus are again keen on Chabot.

Despite the growing interest, Stuttgart are not actively looking to part ways with any of the trio. All three are considered integral to Sebastian Hoeneß’s setup heading into the 2025/26 campaign.

Millot’s departure is expected – Successors lined up

In contrast, the departure of Enzo Millot appears increasingly likely. The French midfielder is believed to be close to having his release clause set at €18 million triggered.

Stuttgart, however, are already working on potential replacements. As per Bild, high on their shortlist are Paul Wanner of Bayern München and Barcelona youngster Noah Darvich.

Additionally, Bild reports that the club has initiated talks with Giannis Konstantelias, a 22-year-old Greek international currently playing for PAOK.
