Ten Hag remains tight-lipped on Sancho situation and reacts to Instagram page deactivation

Erik ten Hag has refused to say whether an apology from Jadon Sancho will see him return to the Manchester United first team.

The winger has been left out of the Red Devils’ match day squads since the defeat to Arsenal on September 2 after claiming he was being used as a ‘scapegoat’ on social media following Ten Hag’s criticism of his training.

talkSPORT understands that Man United will continue to make him train away from the first-team if he still refuses to say sorry to the Red Devils boss.

Ten Hag’s side secured a Carabao Cup win against Crystal Palace on Tuesday night, beginning their defence of the trophy with a 3-0 victory in the third-round tie.

However, his post-match interview quickly turned away from Man United making light work of the Eagles to the ongoing public fallout with Sancho.

When asked whether the situation is any closer to being resolved, Ten Hag said: “I don’t talk about players who are not available.”

The winger appeared to deactivate his Instagram account before this evening’s match, with his profile coming up blank when clicked on.

“I don’t know,” the Dutchman said when asked if the Instagram move was Sancho making a step towards him building bridges, before adding: “It’s up to him.”

When pressed again on whether an apology will resolve the situation, Ten Hag repeated his previous answer.

“I don’t comment on players who are not available,” he said.
