Manchester United new-boy Sofyan Amrabat certainly made a good impression on his full debut for the club.
The midfielder, who has signed on loan from Fiorentina, starred in their 3-0 Carabao Cup win over Crystal Palace.
Amrabat caught the eyes of the world during his stunning World Cup campaign with Morocco in Qatar in December.
United got their hands on him in the summer and despite a delayed first start, fans will certainly say it was worth the wait.
Operating at left-back as opposed to his normal defensive midfield position, Amrabat excelled on his first Old Trafford outing and the statistics certainly back it up.
He won 100 per cent of the tackles he made as well as five out of six of his duels, making 91 touches throughout the match.
Amrabat also enjoyed a 96 per cent pass accuracy from his 81 passes, with five of his six long passes reaching his target.
United fans on social media were absolutely thrilled with what they saw from one of their new arrivals, with one on X saying: “I think I’m in love.”
“He’s going to revolutionise our midfield, Case and Amrabat, with Bruno sitting in front of them might turn out to be one of the best midfields in the league,” added another.
A third said: “Sofyan Amrabat truly delivered an impressive debut performance.”
“He’s a gift from God,” said a fourth, who is clearly pleased to see the star finally playing for the club.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Amrabat expressed his commitment to United by even offering to play in goal if need be.
“I told the manager, ‘I play where you need me, where the team needs me.’ Even if it’s like a goalkeeper, I play where I can help the team.
“Today it was left-back but I had a bit of a free role, I think I also played a lot in the midfield so yeah it was nice, it was good.”
Speaking more on his dual role, he added: “I think you see I like to touch the ball and to have the ball always.
“Of course I’m not a left-back who plays from the line and waits there, so yeah I try to give the team an extra option and I think today it was OK.”
