Vincent Kompany was disappointed that Bayern could only draw against Union Berlin, but didn’t think the performance was bad.

After Leroy Sané broke the deadlock in the second half, Benedict Hollerbach capitalised on a mistake by goalkeeper Jonas Urbig to make it 1-1 and the Bundesliga leaders couldn’t regain the lead.
Bayern coach Vincent Kompany wasn’t happy with the result, but was satisfied with his side’s performance.
“For us the game had two stories – firstly the performance and then the result. We’re not happy with the result, but it wasn’t a bad performance,” said Kompany in a post-match interview.
“We didn’t concede a goal for a long time and took the threat out of Union. Then we had to be patient and work hard to create chances. In the second half, we were better going forward and looked more dangerous.
“But credit to Union, they did well to capitalize on that one moment. We move on.”
The result means Bayer Leverkusen could reduce the gap to Bayern at the top of the table to six points if they can beat Stuttgart on Sunday.
