Vinicius Jr breaks his silence on shock ‘£200m Saudi Arabia move’ with three-word message on his Real Madrid future

Vinicius Junior has broken his silence on the recent interest from several teams from Saudi Arabia, which were keen to sign the Real Madrid star for a world-record bid in the upcoming summer.

The 24-year-old Brazilian international has only two years left on his current contract and saw speculations arise that he is willing to leave the capital of Spain.

The Saudi Pro League clubs were reportedly eager to offer Los Blancos a fee of £200million in order to get Vinicius’ signature – the same amount as the world-record transfer of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.

It was understood that the reigning LaLiga champions were unwilling to let the player leave despite his uneven form throughout this campaign due to Kylian Mbappe‘s arrival in the team.

However, ahead of the Madrid derby in the Champions League on Tuesday night, Vinicius has given his verdict on the future in Carlo Ancelotti‘s side.

‘I am very calm because my contract lasts until 2027 and I hope to renew my contract as soon as possible because I am happy here,’ he said.

‘I am living the dream of playing with the best players in the world, the best coach, the best president, the best fans.

‘Here everybody loves me so much. I couldn’t be in a better place. My child dream was to make it here. Now I have managed to make it to here, I am writing my story.’

It was previously believed that Vinicius met with officials from the Saudi Pro League, specifically vice president Saad Al Lazeez, in Prague in 2023 as they tried to convince him to move.

Despite his young football age of 24, the Brazilian has already collected 15 trophies with Los Blancos, including two Champions League titles in 2022 and 2024, respectively.

He starred in the 2023-24 final against Borussia Dortmund, scoring the second and last goal of the game in the 83rd minute.

‘I have won but I can still win much more and make it into the history of the club. That is very complicated because many good players have been here, legends, and I want to be just like them,’ he added.

‘I’m still experiencing incredible things with this shirt, fulfilling my dreams and I hope we can continue like this, we’ve started to play better since we played against City. We have to play a great game for our fans.’

However, the arrival of French superstar Mbappe may have contributed to the Brazilian’s challenging season as the pair struggles to create a reliable link in Madrid’s attacking line.

The 24-year-old has scored only one goal and delivered one assist in his last nine games in the white shirt.

This could have been a major factor on Madrid’s recent drop in form after they lost seven points out of their four LaLiga matches, leading to third place in the Spanish league table.

Although Madrid failed to beat their rivals in back-to-back games this season, Vinicius is set to qualify further in the Champions League knockout stage.

He added: ‘It will be a great match, a derby is what we like. We always look forward to these matches and it will be my first time in the Champions League against Atletico… it will be a great celebration for our fans.

‘Right now I’m at my best. I’ve had injuries. With so many games you can’t be 100 per cent in all of them. Playing 80 games you can’t always be at your best. You’re not always in top form or physically fit. Many players are playing with discomfort.

‘I think my season is going well. It’s normal that people demand more from me and want more from me. But now the decisive moment of the season has arrived and at Madrid we’re playing better at this point in the season.’
