West Ham have agreed a £15million fee for Said Benrahma with Lyon, though there is work still to be done before the deal is finalised, as revealed on the It’s All Kicking Off Transfer Week podcast.

Benrahma has yet to decide if he wants to leave for France’s Ligue 1, while Pablo Fornals is close to joining Real Betis.

That move would see a reunion with former manager Manuel Pellegrini.

West Ham are facing a busy end to the January transfer window as David Moyes is desperate to add to his attack, particularly if Benrahma and Fornals depart in the next two days.

Talks over a loan for Jota from Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad have encountered complications due to tax issues, while negotiations with Nordsjaelland over Ibrahim Osman have hit a stalemate.

Benrahma has struggled for West Ham this season and if he leaves, the 28-year-old Algerian’s final contribution to the club would be receiving a red card when he kicked out at an opponent in the crotch during the FA Cup third-round defeat by Bristol City in January.

Yet Benrahma will go down in West Ham’s history for scoring in their victorious Europa Conference League final, putting away the penalty before Jarrod Bowen went on to bag the winner.
