Aymeric Laporte appeared to mock Vinicius Jnr on social media after the pair clashed during Spain’s 3-3 friendly against Brazil on Tuesday at the Bernabeu.
Tempers flared during the match, with both players clashing on the pitch after the Brazilian forward appeared to push the Spanish defender in the back with his elbow.
Earlier in the week, Vinicius had broken down in tears during a press conference when he was asked why he had been targeted with racist abuse over the past few seasons.
He told reporters: ‘I just want to play football but it’s hard to move forward. I feel less and less like playing.’
One fan on X (formerly Twitter) appeared to repost a video of the Brazil forward barging into the back of Laporte, writing ‘I just want to play football’ with several ‘crying face emojis’.

Things also got heated at full-time, with Vinicius, who was substituted for Douglas Luiz in the 71st minute, appearing to step out of the dugout before furiously confronting Alvaro Morata who was stood in the home side’s technical area.
Despite tensions rising during the game, fans inside the Bernabeu were treated to a six-goal thriller.
West Ham star Lucas Paqueta managed to salvage a late draw for the visitors, scoring from the spot in the seventh minute of injury time.
Manchester City midfielder Rodri put the hosts ahead from the penalty spot, with Dani Olmo doubling Luis de la Fuente’s side’s lead. Rodrygo would pull a goal back to make it 2-1 before 17-year-old star Endrick scored his second international goal in only his second appearance for Brazil. Rodri would score again from the spot before Paqueta would seal a 3-3 draw.
The game was being played alongside an anti-racism campaign with the slogan ‘one skin’.

Last season, LaLiga had notified prosecutors that 10 incidents of racism had been made by Vinicius Jnr – who was given a standing ovation when he left the field on Tuesday.
During a press conference on Monday, he said: ‘It’s something very sad that happens in every match of mine. It’s not just me and it’s not just in Spain, it’s all over the world.
‘I receive a lot of insults while the racist is free; he is not punished. Every day that goes by I feel more and more sad about it. But I struggle on because they have picked on me.
‘I fight so that in the near future it won’t happen to anyone else.’

Vinicius was racially abused back in 2023 during a game against Valencia at the Mestalla stadium with LaLiga handing lifetime bans to three individuals.
Valencia were ordered to close part of their stadium for five games following the abuse directed toward the Brazilian and were issued with a £39,000 fine.
The winger has hit out against the racist abuse he has received several times before, notably claiming last season that ‘LaLiga belongs to the racists.’
Multiple reports have emerged in recent months claiming that the Real Madrid star has been targeted by racial insults again, with ‘young fans racially abusing the Madrid forward while he was taking part in a friendly game of football with school kids in Morocco.’
