Arsenal have been told that Bundesliga sensation Hugo Larsson is not for sale.
The Eintracht Frankfurt youngster has become one of the most intriguing prospects in German football this season after joining the Eagles from Malmo last summer. Larsson previously rejected a move to Chelsea, feeling that staying in Sweden would be better for his development, but he finally made a big transfer in 2023.
Though Frankfurt have been hit-and-miss this season, Larsson has already proven to be a successful investment and the club are set to reap a massive reward. But not yet this summer.

Despite German media previously reporting that Eintracht could make the Swedish wonderkid available for transfer in the upcoming window in light of his impressive performances, Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg now claims that the Bundesliga side have emphatically made it clear that Larsson is not for sale.
Arsenal forced to shift attention elsewhere
FootballTransfers was able to reveal in early April that Liverpool and Newcastle are among the sides monitoring Larsson. Reports in Germany, meanwhile, also mention Arsenal as one of the interested clubs.
It seems, however, that these sides will have to look elsewhere for midfield reinforcements. Arsenal’s interest in Larsson is intriguing, though. The 19-year-old profiles similarly to Douglas Luiz, especially when the latter features in a more withdrawn role for Aston Villa.

Luiz, of course, is a long-time target of the Gunners and it again hammers home the point that they are looking for that kind of player this summer. The fact that Larsson won’t be on the market could spell bad news for Villa as it means Arsenal will focus on Unai Emery’s midfield general.
While Villa will be in a strong position to keep hold of the Brazilian given that they are likely to qualify for the Champions League, the allure of playing for a Premier League title contender – especially one who has been courting him for years – could prove impossible to turn down.
