Capello and Del Piero ‘shocked’ by Man City bench vs. Real Madrid

Italian legends Alessandro Del Piero and Fabio Capello were ‘shocked’ by the Manchester City bench against Real Madrid, while Paolo Di Canio joked: ‘None of them would play in Serie A!’

Capello, Del Piero and Di Canio are the Sky Sport Italia pundits for Wednesday’s Champions League games, including PSV vs Juventus and Real Madrid vs Manchester City.

Italy and Juventus legend Del Piero was impressed by Pep Guardiola’s options at the Bernabeu against Madrid: “I was looking at City’s bench…” said the former striker.

“Me too, I was shocked, Ale,” argued his former coach Capello.

Del Piero continued: “Aké, Lewis, De Bruyne, Kovacic, Grealish, Haaland, Doku… How many of these would be starters in Serie A?”

“None! None of these in Serie A!” Di Canio jokingly replied.

“Even for the weakest of these, they would roll out a red carpet from the English Channel all the way here, saying: please come!”
