Inter fans erupted after Marcus Thuram’s early goal against Feyenoord, marking the first significant noise in an otherwise quiet San Siro, as the Nerazzurri ultras staged a silent protest against high ticket prices.

The second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 kicked off in a surreal atmosphere, with the Curva Nord opting for silence rather than their usual raucous support.

Their absence was felt immediately, allowing the traveling Feyenoord supporters to dominate the soundscape with deafening chants, making San Siro momentarily feel like an away ground for the hosts.

According to FcInterNews, the protest had begun hours before kickoff, with a banner displayed outside the stadium taking direct aim at the club’s pricing policy. The message, directed at the Nerazzurri’s headquarters, read:

“’Football belongs to the fans,’ the usual lie. Sixty-five euros reflect your shame.”

Fortunately for Simone Inzaghi’s side, the demonstration lasted only 20 minutes. As the Curva Nord reignited their chants, the stadium’s atmosphere transformed, restoring the intimidating backdrop that has long made San Siro a fortress on European nights.
