Jurgen Klopp’s decision to leave Liverpool at the end of the season has been met with dispair by Reds fans and glee by rivals.
The German has shockingly announced that he will depart Anfield at the end of the current campaign, bringing an end to an almost nine-year stint in the Liverpool dugout. In that time, the 56-year-old became one of the club’s most decorated coaches, winning the Champions League, Club World Cup, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, UEFA Super Cup and, crucially, ending the Reds’ 30-year Premier League trophy drought.
Unsurprisingly, then, Klopp’s decision to leave has evoked a passionate response from Liverpool fans, who regard the German as one of the greatest coaches in their club’s illustrious history. Fans of rival clubs, of course, celebrated this news, believing that this may hamstring the Reds, who currently top the Premier League, for years to come.
Here is what the people of X had to say about Jurgen Klopp leaving Liverpool…

Leaving on a high, what a manager we had. Made me fall right back in love with the club during struggling times. Thanks for everything Jurgen.
Without question deserves a statue and stand named after him

Reading between the lines, it sounds like Klopp realised last season that he didn’t have the energy for it for much longer. But he wanted to at least get some foundations in place and get us back on track before he left. What a man. Devastated. Absolutely devastated.

Don’t even know where to begin with this one. For once I’m lost for words. All I’ll say is that Jürgen Klopp is a better human being than he is a football manager – and that’s saying something in itself, because I think he’s the best football manager in the world. pic.twitter.com/Vt1UNTg3o6
