Luke Littler will parade the Sid Waddell trophy around Old Trafford on Sunday when Manchester United take on Brighton, according to reports.

The Nuke sealed a stunning PDC World Darts Championship title earlier this month, thrashing Michael van Gerwen to win the biggest crown in the sport at just the second attempt.

The teenage sensation has taken darts by storm since his unlikely emergence last in late 2023, and has continued to grow, competition by competition.

As such, Man United – who he famously supports – have invited the darts star to Old Trafford as a guest of honour to recognise his stunning achievement.

At the ground he is set to take his latest trophy on a victory lap in front of approximately 74,000 fans, before reportedly being invited to meet some of the players after the match.

Though he will be welcomed into the inner sanctum following the game, he is not thought to be given access to the dressing-room prior to the Premier League clash.

Littler was in action in the Bahrain Masters on Friday night, in his first tournament as world champion, but was dismantled by Gerwyn Price.

However, he seemed in good spirits, taking to X to post: ‘Not my night but great game [Price] – heading home for a few days then looking forward to the Dutch Darts Masters.’

He has previously been welcomed at Old Trafford, and even managed to speak with Sir Alex Ferguson and play darts with some of the team’s current crop of stars at Carrington.

It will be a day of mixed emotions for the club, who are also set to commemorate the passing of United legend Denis Law, who tragically passed away at the age of 84 on Friday.

Law is the club’s third-top scorer of all time, and was part of the club’s stunning side of the 1960s that won two First Division titles and a European Cup.

The Scot – nicknamed the King of the Stretford End – also won the Ballon d’Or, football’s highest individual honour, and remains the only player from his country to have done so.
