Rodri is set to miss Man City’s clash with Arsenal after being sent off in the 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.
The central midfielder saw red following his reaction to a challenge from Morgan Gibbs-White in the corner of the pitch.
The Man City star took exception to a shove from the Forest man, turning around and grabbing Gibbs-White by the neck.
After a VAR review for violent conduct, Rodri was given a straight-red card, leaving Pep Guardiola’s side with 10 men on the pitch.
As a result, the Spain midfielder will face a three-match ban which will rule him out of upcoming matches against Newcastle, Wolves and the Gunners.
The clash with Mikel Arteta’s side is scheduled for October 8 and could be pivotal in this season’s Premier League title race.

Rodri’s red card put City under real pressure as they were forced to play almost the entire second half with 10 men.
Phil Foden and Erling Haaland had given the treble-winners the lead in the first half, but the numerical disadvantage gave Forest an opportunity to try and work their way back into the game.
Thankfully for City, they were able to hold onto their 2-0 lead and secure a valuable three points to extend their run of six wins in six in the Premier League this term.
