Myles Lewis-Skelly’s meteoric rise seemingly knows no bounds as the Arsenal star needed just 20 minutes to mark his England debut by breaking a national record.

The left-back was sitting on the Gunners’ bench as a relatively unknown as recently as December.

But after some stunning performances for Mikel Arteta‘s side, he was called up to the Three Lions squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Latvia and Albania this month.

It was a huge show of faith in Lewis-Skelly by new England manager Thomas Tuchel as he begins his new reign.

Lewis-Skelly, who has made just nine Premier League starts, only scored his first professional goal for Arsenal in last month’s thumping 5-1 win over Manchester City.

And he topped that by finding the back of the net at Wembley to give England a 1-0 half-time lead over Albania.

Timing his run perfectly, Lewis-Skelly latched on to a precise through ball from Jude Bellingham and slipped the ball underneath Albania keeper Thomas Strakosha.

The strike made Lewis-Skelly England’s youngest ever debutant goalscorer, aged 18 years and 176 days.

That broke the record of Marcus Rashford — also starting in Tuchel’s first match in charge — who scored against Australia in May 2016 aged 18 years and 209 days.
