Pundits were quick to comment on Aston Villa‘s ‘lucky’ escape after Diego Carlos elbowed Bryan Gil during Tottenham‘s Aston Villa clash on Sunday. 

Diego Carlos allowed a clumsy elbow into the face of Bryan Gil, with Tottenham’s penalty appeal denied, despite VAR having another busy match.

Karen Carney was quick to point out the incident when speaking at half-time: ‘He’s elbowed him straight into the face. 

‘He’s extremely lucky’ the former Arsenal and Chelsea star added. 

Roy Keane added his thoughts: ‘Silly boy, very, very lucky.
