Various Reports: Leipzig and Hoffenheim still have major transfers to complete
By Peter Weis@PeterVicey
Various sources are currently reporting that RB Leipzig and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim are far from finished when it comes to the summer 2024 transfer market.

Two names are currently being traded at each respective club. A combined total of four more arrivals could be confirmed before the transfer window closes tomorrow.

Just as was the case late last week, it looks to be the case that TSG 1899 Hoffenheim are about to confirm two targeted transactions for a specific area of the roster. Separate sources claim that two more attackers are on the way. German transfer guru Florian Plettenberg reports that the Kraichgauer have reached an agreement with Real Betis over the purchase of 18-year-old Spanish winger Assane Diao.

Plettenberg is also confirming a report concerning Eyüpspor Kulübü striker Erencan Yardımcı. Turkish sporting journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu initially reported that Yardımcı will head to Sinsheim for around €4 million. Plettenberg’s confirmation renders it very likely that – after Adam Hlozek and Haris Tabakovic – Hoffenheim are about to land their third striker in as many weeks.

Leipzig – despite scoring another major transfer coup early this week with the signing of Arthur Vermeeren from Atletico Madrid early this week – might have two more singings to unveil before the transfer window officially closes. France’s L’Equipé reports that the Saxons have tendered an offer for SM Caen winger Tidiam Gomis. The 18-year-old prospect could be on his way to the German Red Bulls.

In a much larger potential deal, €45-million-valued Portuguese defensive talent Antonio Silva of SL Benfica is also on the club’s radar. France’s “RMC Sport” and Portugal’s “A Bola” both presently report that Leipzig are negotiating a one-year-loan deal with an option to buy. Benfica are reportedly considering an offer from the German club. The purchase clause is thought to be in the neighborhood of €25-30 million.
