Mohamed Salah is still a ‘dream’ target for Saudi Pro League sides, with the Liverpool star reportedly set to be offered a deal that could ‘eclipse’ Cristiano Ronaldo’s salary.

Speculation surrounding Salah’s future continued to rage this week after the 32-year-old revealed Liverpool had yet to offer him an extension to his contract, which is due to expire next summer.

Salah has been in exceptional form for Arne Slot’s side this season, grabbing ten goals and six assists in 12 games, however the forward admitted he was ‘more out than in’ in regard to his future at Anfield.

The Egyptian has been a long-term target for Saudi Arabian sides, with Liverpool having turned down an offer of around €150 million for him last summer from Al-Ittihad.

However, the Daily Mail have claimed that Saudi chiefs believe a move to the Pro League would still make financial sense despite the ‘astronomical’ wage packet that would have to be offered.

Ronaldo’s deal at Al-Nassr is believed to be worth €200m but Salah’s availability on a free transfer means he could be offered an amount greater than that, with a belief that his move to an Arab nation would be lucrative for the league.

Liverpool determined to avoid overhaul next summer

Liverpool are still likely to hold talks with Salah despite his ‘disappointment’ over the lack of an offer thusfar as Slot aims to avoid any distraction from his side’s spectacular start to the season.

The club are aware of the instability that could be caused by Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold all leaving on a free transfer next summer when all three players see their contracts expire.

Van Dijk is thought to be the closest to agreeing a new deal, with AnfieldWatch reporting the defender is positioning himself to stay at Liverpool.

Alexander-Arnold’s future, however, looks just as uncertain as Salah’s, with Real Madrid set to push hard to sign the right-back when he is free to sign a pre-contract with European sides from January.
